Pickles and Trixie are a bonded pair with beautifully balanced personalities who bring both sweetness and curiosity into any home lucky enough to know them.
Pickles is a true lovebug. He is affectionate, gentle, and happiest when close to his people—perfectly content to sit on your shoulder all day giving kisses. He loves to talk and will happily say, “pickle pickle.” While he isn’t a strong flyer, he enjoys climbing, playing in cargo nets, and relaxing in his favorite hangout spot on the play top. Pickles enjoys a healthy diet including sprouts, chop, bananas, apples, walnuts, and his regular food mix. He gets along well with other birds and truly lives up to his reputation as a lovable sweetheart.
Trixie is the more independent and adventurous half of the duo. He is a confident flyer who loves being out and exploring everything—sometimes a little too enthusiastically. Trixie enjoys all kinds of toys but especially needs wood toys, as he loves to chew and will happily work on wooden items around the house if given the chance. He shares the same food favorites as Pickles and has a big personality to match his curiosity.
Trixie is very protective of Pickles and will stay close when Pickles is on a person, occasionally hopping up to sit on a shoulder as well. He gets along with some birds but can be a bully with others, so thoughtful introductions are important. He has a history of feather plucking and may over-groom Pickles at times. Despite his independence, his bond with Pickles is strong—at night, he will often return to his cage on his own once Pickles has settled in. Trixie can display hormonal behaviors occasionally and is skittish around new people, needing time and patience to feel secure.
Together, Pickles and Trixie would thrive in a home that understands bonded birds, values enrichment and supervision, and is willing to respect their individual personalities while keeping them together. With the right environment, they offer an incredibly rewarding mix of affection, intelligence, and heart.
