How to surrender to us:

Thank you for considering The Charlie Brown Bird Rescue to help with your bird. We understand that surrendering a beloved companion is never an easy decision, and we appreciate you taking the time to complete this request form.
Please complete this form as thoroughly and honestly as possible. The information you provide will help us evaluate your surrender request and determine the best course of action for your bird.
Please note: Submitting this form is not a guarantee that we will be able to accept your bird. Acceptance is based on available space, foster resources, medical needs, and our ability to provide appropriate care. If we are able to move forward, a member of our surrender team will contact you to discuss the next steps.
Instructions:
- Please fill out the online surrender application.
- Please be as thorough as possible when filling out the application, including as much history about the bird as possible. Your detailed information will help us ensure your bird can adjust to its new surroundings and find the perfect home. Your involvement in this process is crucial and greatly appreciated.
- After we receive your application, you will receive an email and/or phone call from our surrender coordinator to arrange a surrender interview.
- If your surrender is due to a medical emergency, please call and leave a message or text at 419-234-1486. We will get back to you as soon as possible or take the animal to the nearest avian veterinarian.
- Once there is an open spot for your parrot, we will help to arrange for the drop-off or transport if needed to get your bird to the rescue.
There is no fee to relinquish a bird to us.
While there is no fee to surrender a bird, caring for rescue parrots is costly. Veterinary care, medical testing, food, toys, enrichment, and housing all add up quickly. If you are able, a monetary donation or donation of your bird’s cage and supplies is always appreciated and helps us continue providing care to birds in need. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all eligible donations are tax-deductible.
