Unfortunately, in the U.S., it is estimated that parrots are re-homed approximately 7 times before they die. That means that the amount of birds needing to be rescued is quite high. Most rescues have a waiting list, and we are no exception. As much as we would love to take in every bird that needs our help, we only have so much room.
The rescue always needs qualified individuals to help foster birds while they wait for their forever home. You ask who would be qualified? Qualified individuals would have the following traits:
- Has a special love for parrots. Lots of patience.
- Understand parrot behaviors.
- Can help rehabilitate parrots for rehoming.
- Is willing to assist in any medical emergencies.
