Papa Bear isn’t a fan of head scratches, but he does enjoy simply being near his people. He likes to hang out, watch what you’re doing, and exist alongside you. With patience, calm interaction, and a predictable routine, he continues to show more of his sweet, thoughtful nature every day.
He is very food motivated, which helps immensely with building trust and working on positive reinforcement training. However, like all Eclectus parrots, he has very specific dietary needs. Their unique digestive system thrives on a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, and healthy grains, with much lower reliance on pellets and seeds. An adopter familiar with—or willing to learn—Eclectus-appropriate nutrition is essential for his long-term health.
Papa Bear doesn’t ask for much: stability, kindness, and a home that understands that trust takes time. In return, he offers companionship, quiet moments, and the rewarding experience of watching a bird learn what safety feels like.
