Ringo

Ringneck

Age: Unknown

Sex: Visual Male

About:

Ringo is the type of bird that makes you work for his trust, but once you have it he will impress you. He doesn’t show an obvious preference for men vs women but really prefers that no one wear hats or come near him too bundled up with winter gear (he’s a bit of a nervous boi.) he’s scared easily, and you can tell he’s had a life that’s encouraged that nervousness. Please, don’t cover his cage. He is very scared of blankets. But if you ever need him to calm down, he loves his alone time at night in his room. He’s calmest in his cage at night. He responds well to calm voices and energy.

he’s also very charismatic- he LOVES toys, specifically anything springy or easy to tear apart. And foraging! I buy a foraging blend and mix it in their food and he is one of the only ones who eats it all. He will play all day long by himself if you let him! He is entertained by TV, and he does his excited squeals when cartoons are on! When I leave, he watches Bluey or Cold case files 😂 He loves to “wash” his food, so don’t be surprised if you give him clean water several times a day.

He’s very reluctant to step up but does way better when away from his cage and on a training perch. I’ve only been able to get him to willingly do it once, but I do believe that with dedication and patience, he will learn that hands are not that scary.

His favorite treats are pistachios, and he loves the herbal tea blends from, I believe, Bird Street Bistro and Prairie Plus!

He doesn’t say any words but makes the same receptive robot sounds, which get louder when he is excited!
